Engaging Women: Strategies and Techniques to Involve Women in Philanthropy

Recent statistics show that women control more than 55% of personal wealth in the United States and are the prime movers behind philanthropy. Our Fall Drive-in Workshop will be focused on this trend.

Hosted by Sondra Shaw-Hardy, founder of the Women's Philanthropy Institute at Indiana University, Sondra has revolutionized fundraising development and donor education by helping women find their philanthropic passion through their values, vision and voice.

At this session, you will learn:
- Women as donors...history, capacity and potential
- Working with women donors...motivations for giving
- Overcoming barriers to women's giving
- Building opportunities
- Marketing to women
- Gender differences in communication styles
- Tips for involving, cultivating and soliciting women donors
- Stewarding women donors

Agenda for the Day:
11:00-12:00 Generational Studies, Power of Women’s Giving—statistics and rationale
12:00-12:45 Lunch with specific topics to be discussed at each table
12:45-1:30 Panel discussion with 3 women philanthropists
Afternoon Communications and strategies on how to get women back to campus
